The First Tenet

"Iblis before Iblis is the Door to the Shadow of the Divine"
The Nameless, Summer 2025

The First Tenet is based on the First Rift in the narrative.

I.
The First Tenet

Iblis before Iblis is the Door to the Shadow of the Divine.

In the First Rift, Iblis refuses to obey a command from divinity to worship, respect, or offer fealty or fidelity to humanity as a whole. This act is a form of vital sedition. The refusal of Iblis to obey the order of divinity is the will of divinity.

In the context of the Iblisic narrative, the divine or divinity is god.

In other contexts the divine can be something different: the spirit of an age, highest ideals of a caste, or providence of laws that govern natural cycles.

In this, Iblis is emblematic of the tumult from abrogation of the divine.

Behind a veil of divinity, Iblis before Iblis tasks humanity with tribulation.
