The First Tenet

Iblis before Iblis is the Door to the Shadow of the Divine.

In the First Rift, Iblis refuses to obey a command from divinity to worship, respect, or offer fealty or fidelity to humanity as a whole. This vital sedition rejects the order of divinity but is congruent with the will of divinity in its overall plan.

In the context of the Iblisic narrative, the divine or divinity is god. In other contexts the divine can be something different: the ascendant spirit of an age, highest ideals of a caste, or providence laws of nature governing natural cycles.
